Journalist, Yinka Badmus Was Not Charged To Court For Wearing Dreadlocks But For Cultism

The Nigeria police force has reacted to a report about a 24-year-old photojournalst, Tunde Badmus who was arrested by policemen attached to the Lagos State Anti-Cultism unit. According to the police PPRO, Dolapo Badmus as shared on her Instagram page,   the attention of the authorities of Lagos State Police Command has been drawn to the news making the rounds on the social media and published by some sections of the print media to the effect that one Yinka Badmus, a photojournalist, has been arrested and remanded in Ikoyi prison, for allegedly sporting a hairstyle, which some policemen felt made him look like a cultist. Ordinarily, the Command would not have responded to the news but because of numerous phone calls and enquiries from well-meaning Nigerians, it decided to put the issue in proper perspective. 150 Senior Advocates to defend CJN Walter Onnoghen in Court

One Hundred and fifty   Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) have reportedly volunteered to represent the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen at his planned trail at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) tomorrow January 14th. Recall that the federal government last Friday January 11th, filed a six count charge against the CJN over his alleged failure to declare his assets as required by law and for operating Bank Domiciliary Foreign Currency Accounts. Constitutional lawyer, Sebastine Hon, SAN in a telephone chat with Daily Trust on Saturday said the number of eminent lawyers that have volunteered to defend the CJN might even be more than 150.

Armed Guys Robbed Ladies of Their Pants in An Eatery At Ijebu Ode

According to a twitter user, some armed guys went into an eatery in Ijebu ode Ogun state and collected all the pants of the ladies and gave pants to those that didn’t wear pant to wear for five (5) minute. @Omotayo_Visuals took to twitter to reveal the incident. She wrote:- Some boys went to an eatery at ijebu ode Ogun state and collected all the pant of the ladies there no killing or robbery they just went there for the pants, those that didn’t wear pant were given pant to wear for five (5) minute. There have been series of stories on the media of how pants were found with ritualists. Recall that Nollywood actress, Mosun Filani weighed in on the issue of ritualists making use of female pants. Sharing on social media, the actress advised ladies on how to properly dispose their old pants in order for them not to get into the hands of ritualist.

The Chief Justice Of Nigeria, Justice Onnoghen To Face Corruption, Assets Declaration Charges

According to several reports, the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) has filed corruption-related charges against Justice Walter Onnoghen at the Code of Conduct Tribunal. The charges were based on fraudulent declaration of assets, and the trial is set to begin on January 14, 2019. A statement by the CCT, the trial would take place at the Federal High Court in Abuja. The statement read: “Service of summons has been effected to the defendant. The three-man panel led by Justice Danladi Y. Umar, will commence the trial on Monday, 14th January, 2019 at its courtroom, situated at the headquarters, along Jabi Daki biyu, Saloman Lar way, Abuja, at about 10:00am. “The application was filed yesterday by the operatives of CCB, dated 11st January, 2019 and signed by Musa Ibrahim Usman (Esq) and Fatima Danjuma Ali (Esq), containing 6 count charges all bothers on non-declaration of asset.” The six-count charge document, dated January 10, 2019 and signed on Janauary 11, 2019, listed...

The presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, his wives and the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus on Friday mocked President Muhammadu Buhari over the relegation of women to the kitchen or the bedroom which the President referred to as the ‘other room’. They all spoke in Abuja at the Women Conferences with the theme “Call for Action.” While Atiku promised to give women more than 35 percent in his government and would not be put in the other room, his wives said their husband, Atiku didn’t put them in the other room, but give them free hand and allowed them to do their businesses. Atiku said: “We have no fear of handing over the country to you. In my three decades of politics, the most consistent voters in the Nigeria political process are women.
