Deceiving Nigerians using ethnicity, religion is bloody nonsense — Buhari

Image
President Muhammadu Buhari has frowned on the use of religion and ethnicity by some Nigerians to deceive others to either promote corruption or stand in the way of justice, saying “this is bloody nonsense”. His Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, in a statement on Monday, said Buhari spoke at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Sunday night, when he hosted former employees who worked with him during his tenure as military Head of State from January 1984 to August 1985. The ex-workers were led to the Villa by Buhari’s former aide-de-camp, Alhaji Mustapha Jokolo, an ex-Emir of Gwandu. THE FATHERS GALE By Horacle Tundè Ómó Atólagbé

Image
"In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act" - George Orwell. No one envisage this would happen between the two fathers, Obasanjo and Buhari. Not even the former President, the great Dr. Good luck Jonathan, whom the two fathers openly collaborate to dislodge and swings a foot on his ambition in 2015. I am not expecting it either, that, "What goes round would come round between them." No one really thought about the Book of Galatians, " Be not be deceived by the lies of the APC, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." It was what Iyabo's father sow that he is now reaping from Zarah's father who ordinarily couldn't pronounce corruption very well. "Even a five years old boy knows that it is corruption and not kwuruption." What you don't know how to pronounce, how would you fight it? In 2014/15, the APC leaders and some rabbles, with Buhari who couldn't comprehe

Image
The presidential candidate of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), Mr Fela Durotoye, says the reason Nigeria has not been able to attain her full potential is because the nation has been ruled for the past 50 years rather than being led. Durotoye made this statement on Saturday during the NEDG/BON presidential debate at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja. He said, “Why haven’t we fulfilled our nation’s potentials? Because we have been ruled and not led for the last 50 odd years” adding, “Rulers suppress the potentials of others whereas leaders support those people to release their potentials.” Durotoye explained that he got into the race because of his zeal to serve the people of the country. The ANN presidential candidate said he is a leadership expert that has helped others to discover their potentials.

Two Kinds Of Buhari’s Supporters

Image
There are two kinds of supporters that worked for the 2015 electoral victory of President Muhammadu Buhari. The first group is made up of those who supported the presidential bid of Buhari in 2015 because they genuinely wanted a better Nigeria. They were not satisfied with the administration of Dr Goodluck Jonathan, and believed that Buhari held the key to Nigeria’s transformation. They saw Buhari as a leader who would not condone corruption, nepotism, tribalism, mediocrity, wastefulness, flamboyance, and the like. The second group supported Buhari for personal reasons. In this group were those who supported Buhari because he was their kinsman. They wanted their kinsman (or one who spoke the same language with them) to be president. For them, it was their turn to rule Nigeria. Another section of this second group supported Buhari because his running mate, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, was their kinsman. Dear Reader, what do you think about this? Credit: The Punch

His words: "This government came and said they were going to give you jobs. Have they given you the jobs? They said they were going to grow the economy. Have they grown the economy? We are in recession. In fact, we are the headquarters of poverty in the whole world. That is where they took us to. “They said they were going to secure our country. Instead of securing our country, we have insecurity in three to four zones of the country. Have they delivered on all these three? Why should you then vote for them? “Now, listen to this very carefully. We have information that INEC has been giving uncollected Permanent Voter Card

He didn’t buy it.’ Lt James Wilson of the South Euclid Police Department said officers recognized the situation as a teaching opportunity, telling WKYC: ‘Certainly if we were busy, it would be pushed to the back burner, but we still have an obligation to respond.’ The teen, whose name has not been released because she is a minor, can be heard saying: ‘I want my phone.’ The father, Anthony Robertson then explains: ‘I took her phone because she’s a juvenile, and I don’t want her to have it. Emeka Ike Laments, Economy and Cable TV knocked me, others out of Nollywood

Image
During a chat with the punch Newspaper, Nollywood Actor, Emeka Ike when he was asked about why he has not been on the screen for some times now. He said, “It is not just about me; it is about all the actors in my set. You don’t see Jim Iyke, Ramsey Nouah, Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde as often in movies any more as you used to. So, it is not about me alone. It is the new trend that came about when cable television operators came on board. The home video system was not properly structured; so, people started buying decoders. The level of politics in the home video sector was so high and our economic value became affected because initially, we got paid from the funds got from the sales of movies. As an actor, you can determine the fees you will charge for a movie. When cable television was introduced, it drastically reduced the sales of movies because some of those movies were already being aired on TV. It is not a personality thing but the lack of structures in the i
