16 Year Old Girl Calls 911 Because Her Dad seized Her $800 Phone


A 16-year-old girl called the police on her father after he took her phone away as punishment for having it password protected.

Ohio officers responded to the 911 call made by the teen, who told dispatchers: ‘My father took my property, which is an $800 phone that doesn’t belong to him. He didn’t buy it.’
Lt James Wilson of the South Euclid Police Department said officers recognized the situation as a teaching opportunity, telling WKYC:

‘Certainly if we were busy, it would be pushed to the back burner, but we still have an obligation to respond.’
The teen, whose name has not been released because she is a minor, can be heard saying: ‘I want my phone.’ The father, Anthony Robertson then explains:

‘I took her phone because she’s a juvenile, and I don’t want her to have it. I can’t inspect it, because the phone is locked, so I took it away.’
The officers determined that it was merely a parental disciplinary issue and sided with Robertson.

Onnoghen's CCT Trial: Lawyers Protest Say It's 'Dead on Arrival'

Some Lawyers according to Sahara reporters held a protest in Abuja today Monday to express dissatisfaction with the charges filed against the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen Onnoghen is standing trial over charges related to alleged fraudulent declaration of assets. He was scheduled for arraignment on Monday but wasn’t in court. The protest held outside the premises of the Code of Conduct Tribunal. According to the lawyers, “due process” is required before Onnoghen can be arraigned. They also noted that the charge against Onnoghen is “dead on arrival in view of the case of Nganjiwa v FRN (2017) LPELR 43391 wherein the Court of Appeal held that a judicial officer who has not been investigated by the National Judicial Council and sanctioned for misconduct cannot be arraigned in any criminal court in Nigeria”.
